Description | : | We had almost given up finding the young Red-tailed Hawks (Buteo jamaicensis) around Central Presbyterian Church as it appeared they were making longer flights away from their nesting area. Just as we rounded a corner to drive to another location, we came across one of the young sitting on a wire. It seemed quite happy to observe passing cars and pedestrians for a while, then took flight. It sat in a nearby tree for a heartbeat, then flew off to parts unknown.
