Description | : | This is the Presbyterian church in Galt (OK, so it's been part of Cambridge since 1973, but we still prefer to call it Galt) where Red-tailed Hawks nested and raised a family of four. We're not sure of the significance of birds nesting on churches, but we're sure it has something to do with flocks and enrichment. Our lives have certainly been enriched by our experiences here -- not only having the opportunity to photograph the magnificent raptors, but meeting new friends. Friends such as George Aitkin, a devoted marathoner and cyclist who kept us updated daily on the hawks' progress; Kevin, who stuck with us on many days, providing an extra pair of eyes on the hawks' whereabouts; chimers John McDonald and Peter Goudy, who graciously allowed us a visit into the bell tower (and a turn on the bells!); church custodian Dave Aikin, who let us park in his spot when parking became critical on Sunday mornings -- and offered coffee!! And all those wonderful churchgoers and residents of the retirement home across the street who stopped by for a chat and a peek through our lenses. All in all, a once-in-a-lifetime experience for us. Thank you all.
