Description | : | Ah .. banding day at the Burlington Lift Bridge and the adult Peregrine Falcons (Falco peregrinus) were on high alert as a team from the Canadian Peregrine Foundation and the Ministry of Natural Resources removed their chicks from the nest box. Neither parent was too happy with the human intrusion, and took about an hour to calm down after their chicks had been weighed, measured, banded, named and returned to the box. We're looking forward to some spectacular displays in the coming weeks as the young take to the air. This is the adult female, Cirrus, who was born in Dayton, Ohio, in 2006. The adult male, Sir Adam Beck, was born in Toronto, also in 2006.
