Description | : | Several months after Tania captured an outstanding image of a Peregrine Falcon (Falco peregrinus) in flight, Jim was invited to the banding and naming of Peregrine Falcon chicks by the Canadian Peregrine Foundation. There were three male and one female in the clutch born to a pair nesting atop an 18-storey building near Yonge and King streeets in Toronto. Jim was given the opportunity to name a chick, so, in honor of Tania's amazing image, Jim named the female "Estero," after the Florida bay on which the photo was taken.
