| Description | : | Easy to see why the Red-shouldered Hawk (Buteo lineatus) is one of our favourite raptors. This particular hawk was so easy-going with us (note the relaxed posture with one leg tucked). We decided to test its comfort zone and managed to slowly proceed to within a metre. The reaction from the hawk appeared to be one of amusement. We stood almost eyeball to eyeball with the hawk for several minutes before he decided he'd had enough of a close encounter. Even then, he didn't stray far. An outstanding experience!
