The centuries-old churches, next to the Grand Kremlin Palace inside the Kremlin walls, are spectacular both inside and out. For a small fee, you can take pictures inside. Precious metals and original icons abound. Most of the icons have had little restoration work - that was limited to removing the years of smoke buildup from candles.
