Description | : | Historic St. John's Church sits on a high cliff and commands an excellent view of the Atlantic. The original church was built around 1660 but was destroyed by fire. A second chuch built on the site was destroyed by a hurricane in 1831. The present building was erected in 1836. All that remains of the original 1660 church is a wooden pulpit.
