Description | : | Statue to the one and only Robert Burns (Jan. 25, 1759 - July 21, 1796) in Dumfries. At his feet is his dog, Luath. The statue was commissioned in 1877, and based on a model proposed by artist Amelia Paton Hill. It was carved in Carrara by Italian craftsmen and unveiled by the Earl of Rosebery on April 6, 1882.
