| Description | : | We thought we'd check on the Barred Owls (Strix varia) again to see if they were still hanging about. Managed to spot several, including this individual who chose a branch with a shadow falling right across him. We decided to take a walk and return in a little while to give the sun time to change position. The owl hadn't moved, the sun had changed, no shadow was across the bird ... great opportunity. It lasted only a minute, however, as the owl decided to walk two inches down the branch -- right into the shadow of another branch. Nature! Ain't it grand!
